Bonjour! Kia Ora! Hello! Guten Tag! We are Sonja and Michael and in 2015 Michael took over the running of this beautiful 11th century Château and Farmhouse which has been in his family since 1993. Michael is originally from Switzerland and moved to France after living in New Zealand for over 20 years and Sonja is originally from Germany and has also been living in New Zealand over 20 years.
As self-confessed gourmands we share a love for good food, wine, music and great company which can be found in abundance in the surrounding region of the Loire Valley.
Michael trained in Hotel and Restaurant Management in Lucerne and in the ‘off’ season works as a private tour guide in New Zealand and Sonja is a New Zealand travel agent. We have set up a relaxed and friendly yet efficient style of management amongst this beautiful setting.
We are fluent in Swiss (German), High German, French (well mostly) and English.
