EXCELLENTVerified First Castle Experience This being my first time in Europe and first time ever in a castle was an incredible experience. I was blown away by the history throughout the castle, which takes you back in time. The accommodation in the castle and the units were fantastic - so authentic and interesting, no two rooms were the same. Hosts, Michael and Sonja were awesome, picking me up from the train station and exploring another local castles open day with a wealth of knowledge about the area. Wine and food were amazing and it was great swimming and relaxing around the pool. Michael and Sonia are just lovely, everything was perfect. They arranged for us all the accommodations and amenities we wanted before our arrival. We had everything we needed and more. The castle is absolutely stunning and beautifully decorated. We spent 4 days out of time. I highly recommend this experience, we never lived something similar before. Thank you so much to our hosts <3Posted onVerified Dream come true. A must stay in a magical castle. Myself and 17 others stayed at this amazing, magical chateau. There was ample amount of space - each couple got their own private room or Guate to allow private moments even when travelling as a group. The grounds were prefect - we played several sports - including cricket. The pool was large and clean - great for a morning dip. The castle really was a dream come true. It’s is extremely authentic and you really do feel like you have gone back in time - the high ceilings, grand hall and beautiful furniture throughout. In the evenings we watched the sun set and sat around the fire pit. Sonia and Michael really have thought of every detail - there was nothing more we could have needed or wanted. Both sonia and michael are extremely helpful and attentive throughout the whole process. We can’t wait to return.Posted onVerified Chateau de Chanze is a truly authentic and beautiful chateau The whole chateau is so tasteful and we made full use if the beautiful dining hall but also enjoyed dining in the beautiful grounds on several evenings. We were there for some very warm days so very much enjoyed the sparkling clean pool for cooling off. Sonia and Michael were very accommodating and were on hand to give us information, recommend local attractions and catering and arrange transfers from the train station in Angers. I can’t recommend Chateau de Chanze enough, should it be for a party, a reunion or for a beautiful wedding venue. The attention to detail is impressive and the atmosphere is very relaxing.Posted onVerified ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING! I can not recommend the Chateau de Chanzé enough - what an incredible place! Sonia and Michael couldn’t have done more to help us settle in and organise with endless patience and help, whilst giving us space to enjoy the property. We were there for my 40th birthday, with 25 people across the Chateau and gits - everyone loved the space and surrounds. I couldn’t have wished for a better birthday and a better location, they really had thought of everything. Thank you so so much!!Posted onVerified great place for friends / familes 15 of us stayed at the chateau and had great time. The owners were exceptionally helpful and on hand if you need anything but you don't notice they are there which is great Outdoor pool very clean and looked after well by owners on site. Enjoyed playing bowl in the grounds, using the 2 bikes the owners let us use to get bread from local village. Big dining table that could sit 20 people is great for large parties. We played tennis at local village - free to use and locals never use it, great facility The whole place was fantastic and having a real fire in the main hall was a great way to end the day. The only thing I would do is upgrade is the strength of the lighting in some of the bedrooms. Due to the very high ceiling need a bit more light and a dressing table for the ladies to prepare themselves before dinner.Posted onVerified Ein zauberhafter Ort wir waren hier im letzten Frühsommer und haben ein Familienfest gefeiert. sich einmal wie ein Burgherr oder Burgfräulein fühlen, das wurde hier Realität. Am riesigen Tisch im grossen Saal mit über 100m2 konnten wir alle 25 zusammen königlich dinnieren. Michael hat einen Caterer organisiert und wir tafelten wie Gott in Frankreich, dazu gab es wunderbaren Wein aus den Weinbergen um das Schloss herum. Den vertrage sogar ich, die sonst sofort Kopfweh bekommt. Zwischen den Gängen konnte man sich im lauschigen Park etwas die Füsse vertreten und dem Layon, dem Flüsschen direkt vor dem Schloss beim Fliessen zuschauen. Trotz Mittelalterfeeling ist alles nötige auf modernem Stand, die Bäder haben Fussbodenheizung :) und die Küche ist auch mit Spülmaschine,Backofen und Herd ausgerüstet. Wir fühlten uns wie im Paradies und wären am liebsten gleich für immer geblieben. Wir werden bestimmt wieder kommen!
